Brake fluid flush

Brake fluid is hygroscopic — it pulls water out of the air through the hoses. Water boils long before the fluid does, and boiling fluid is a lever that comes back to the bar with nothing behind it.

What we do

  • Existing fluid tested for water content and shown to you on the meter
  • System flushed until clean fluid runs through, front and rear
  • Fresh DOT 4 or DOT 5.1 as the manufacturer specifies
  • Clutch line flushed too where it is hydraulic
  • ABS circuit cycled where the system requires it
  • Pads, discs and hoses inspected while everything is open

If you ride on track

Do this annually rather than every two years, and consider a higher boiling point fluid. It is the difference between a firm lever on the last session and no lever at all.
