Fork oil and seal service
Fork oil breaks down and fills with the metal it has worn off the bushes. After two or three years the damping is doing something quite different to what the spec sheet says.
What we do
- Forks removed, stripped and cleaned
- Bushes and slider bores measured for wear
- New oil seals, dust seals and circlips
- Fresh oil at the correct weight, set by oil height rather than volume
- Reassembled, refitted and set to your sag
- Front end alignment checked as the clamps go back
Worth doing at the same time
Steering head bearings are already exposed with the forks out. Doing them together saves a second strip later.
