Puncture repair — car
Tire off the rim, damage inspected from inside the carcass, and a decision made on whether it is genuinely repairable.
Repairable
Within the central tread area, within the size limit, no internal damage from being run flat. Gets an internal patch-plug combination, vulcanised, rebalanced and refitted.
Not repairable
Sidewall or shoulder damage, a hole beyond the limit, visible internal chafing from being driven on flat, or a previous bad repair. You pay the inspection only.
The honest bit
Plenty of places will plug anything from the outside without removing the tire. It is faster and it is cheaper. It is also not a repair we are willing to put our name to.
