Rear shock service

A shock that has gone soft and vague is not tired springs, it is usually emulsified oil and lost nitrogen pressure.

Service

  • Shock removed and stripped where it is serviceable
  • Damper rod and seals inspected, seal head replaced
  • Fresh oil and the nitrogen charge reset to spec
  • Spring rate checked against your weight and riding
  • Refitted and sag set with you on the bike, in your gear

If it is a sealed unit

A lot of standard shocks are not designed to be opened. We will tell you straight away if yours is one of them, and what a replacement or an aftermarket unit would cost, rather than charging you for a strip that goes nowhere.
